The American Airlines history museum uncovers the history of its airplanes which include a fully restored DC-3. You can also view video presentations, and an awesome 2-seater flight simulator. Admission is free and the opportunity to learn how planes work and how to fly them should not be missed.
The Dallas aquarium is home to freshwater fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. There is everything from Walking Batfish and Electric Torpedo Rays to a six-foot-long Alligator. In 1964 the park added a saltwater section. There are over 6,000 different animals to look at. One of the special features is the "Amazon forest which has over 30 different fish. You will not want to miss this.
This 8 story educational hub of information was created in memory of Texas Instruments owner J. Erik Jonsson. Located on the second floor in the Children's Centre, is a hand-crafted scale model of the 8th century Viking ship Drakkar. On the seventh floor is the declaration of independence which was printed on July 4th, 1776. Also, included on the 7th floor in a special room is William Shakespeare's complete printing of his plays. The book was created in 1623 and was given to the library by the Dallas Shakespeare club in 1986.
This unique attraction covers over 54,000 square feet and a 2.0 acre sculpture garden. The centre will be opening on October 19th 2003. You will not want to miss this grand opening. The centre was designed by architect Renzo Piano. The centre will have one of the world's largest modern sculpture collections. It will also have a rotational schedule of different exhibits as well as many educational initiatives.
