Civic minded and friendly are two words to describe the people of Cameron, Texas. This city, with a population of about 5700, is an agricultural setting surrounding by many lakes, rivers, trees and wildlife. The Annual Dewberry Festival takes place during the last week of April in the Wilson-Ledbetter Park. Barbecues, live entertainment, horseshoe competitions, rides and other attractions will certainly keep you busy. Other types of festivals include the Arts and Craft Fair, City-Wide Garage Sale, and the Christmas Parade.

You will find a range of historic sites, making this city a paradise for history buffs. The Bridges of Milam County, for example, are examples of 100 year old steel bridges still in use today.
