About Las Vegas Hotels

The downtown area of Las Vegas and the Strip have, since the Binion's Horseshoe hotel and casino opened here in the 1930s, evolved into one of the finest gambling, entertainment and hotel locations in the United States. The Strip is not actually part of Nevada City proper and is located the outskirts of town.

The Venetian, Caesars Palace and the Luxor are just three of the renowned resort hotels here. The downtown entertainment area has been renamed 'the Fremont Street Experience', and is home to the Golden Nugget and other casinos.

Las Vegas is the perfect holiday destination at any time of the year, and the abundant draws here pull in around 40 million tourists annually. Although many people come in the hope of winning big at blackjack, roulette or even on the slots, others are attracted by the chance of seeing the finest names in the entertainment business at Caesars’ Colosseum and other venues. Getting around Las Vegas is easy; buses run between the Strip and Fremont Street, but self-drives are a better option for journeys to more distant tourism sites.

Las Vegas is a megaplex of showcase hotels, and dazzling casinos, but what you may not be familiar with is the free events that take place. An excellent example of this is: Air Play. This is a marvellous show with exciting acrobats, aerialists, jugglers and singers. There is a show four times each day. You may also want to visit the high tech conservatory at Bellagio. If you have a sweet tooth, you don't want to miss out on the Ethel M's Chocolate Factory, it is only ten kilometres from the strip. All of these attractions are free. Make a plan to visit the Grand Canal Shops, St. Mark's Square at the Venetian and see the street performers and living statues. When you visit the Venetian you will see gondola rides. There are two different types of rides but both are spectacular. The rides are given from 10 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. On Saturday and Friday they are until 11:30 p.m.
