As the oldest original township in the state of New Jersey, Woodbridge has a lot to offer its visitors. The history of this town dates back to the first settlers in 1664 and it was the site of many firsts in the state and the nation. For example, James Parker established the first permanent printing house here in 1751 and it was the site of the first antislavery meetings in the country in 1783. The town is well known for its fine clay deposits and the by-products that come from the manufacturing industries here. With a population of just over 100,000 residents, it is the fifth largest municipality in New Jersey.
