Seward, Nebraska, is an exciting place to visit when you are on vacation. This town of about 6500 people is easily accessed from US Highway 34 and Nebraska Highway 15. You will see a variety of landscapes from rolling hills to flat plains. Many explorers came through this area in the 1500s and came in contact with the Pawnee, Sioux, Omaha and Otoe Indian tribes that lived here. Danish immigrants attempted settlement, but the natives drove them out. It was not until 1859 that the first settlement started in this area.
When you come to Seward, you can see the World's Largest Time Capsule or see the extensive rock and mineral collection at Concordia University. Take in an old movie at the Rivoli Theater, which is furnished and decorated like the movie theaters of the 1950's. Seward Bowl is the place where you can test your skills against the great bowlers of this town.
There are nine public parks within the town with facilities such as playgrounds, tennis and volleyball courts and horseshoe pits. There is also a 9-hole golf course and an indoor swimming pool as well as a wealth of walking and hiking trails around the town.
