What was once a railroad siding, is now the city of Lexington, Nebraska. There are many annual events that attract visitors from all over the country. It is known as the Antique Center of America with over 10 antique malls featuring the wares of more than 20 dealers. Labor Day Weekend sees over 270 dealers gathered together for the annual Antique and Craft Extravaganza. The Farm Machinery Auction held in February attracts more than 750 bidders and the Dawson County Fair in August sees an influx of more than 20,000 visitors to the city. July 4th and Veteran's Day are two other popular events with marching bands and parades.
