There are many historic homes and monuments, such as the statue of John Brown, a slavery abolitionist and the Huron Indian Cemetery. You can make an appointment to see the Quindaro Ruins/ Underground Railroad, the largest shrine to the Underground Railroad in the country. Children and adults alike, will delight in the sights of the Children's Museum of Kansas City, with the many educational and cultural exhibits on display.  The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame provides an educational look at the history of farming in this area.
