Ellsworth is located in Kansas, 35 miles west of Salina. This city has a rich history as the "wickedest cow town in the west". If you are planning to visit Kansas, you should pay a visit to Ellsworth, where you can enjoy a range of excellent events and attractions, rolling hills and bluffs, nearby state lakes and one of the best golf courses in central Kansas. You can also bowl and enjoy a range of indoor recreation in this area.
For history buffs there is a museum called Hodge House Museum Complex, which was established around 1987. Located on the plaza is an 1878 Victorian home, the Hodgden House, the center for the Museum Complex and there is also the turn of the century wooden windmill, a General Store, a livery stable, a 1912 one room school and other attractions.
Although Ellsworth has an often dark history with natural disasters and other incidents, it is now a beautiful place to rest and enjoy. You can go for a stroll and stop by one of the little stores or have dinner in one of the many restaurants. There are a few hotels where you can stay which offer great service and make your stay a comfortable one. There are no big malls in Ellsworth, but if you like antiques you can go to Ellsworth Antique Mall, which is located at 210 N. Douglas Ave.
Ellsworth is host to a range of special events throughout the year. In April, the End of The Trail Ranch Rodeo takes place. In May you can enjoy the Spring Beef Show, and in June and July take in the Ellsworth County Relay for Life and Living History Days.
