Located in Miami County, Indiana, Peru is known as the Circus Capital of the World. The Miami Indians made this area home in the early centuries and the first Europeans reached this area in 1685. Due to the lack of employment, the people began boarding animals for three circuses, which is how the city got its nickname.

Take a Peru River Walk that meanders along the shores of the Wabash River to see the scenery of the river and the town.
