Known internationally as the "Leather City", Buford, Georgia, is actually based on much more than the tanning of leather. At one time it was the largest city in Gwinnett County and for the longest time was the only town with an industrial activity. It is one town that never seemed to go through the sleepy country town phase being always involved in industry. Any visitor to this city will be amazed at the mix of modern and antique existing side by side.

There are many historic homes in the town that are open to visitors on a daily basis. One of these is The Bona Allen Mansion and is the most sought after place in town to hold a wedding or a social event.

Golf enthusiasts will enjoy a round of golf at the lake Lanier Islands and there are several parks and beaches where the whole family can enjoy a fun-filled day. A real thrill for your vacation would be to go hiking or camping in the North Georgia Mountains.  Buford City Park, which stretches for 25 acres, contains tennis and basketball courts as well as baseball, softball and soccer fields.

When you want to go shopping, Buford will not let you down. The Mall of Georgia, the Art Colony Downtown and the Tannery Row Antique Mall will provide you with a shopping experience like no other.
