Schulz Museum features the cartoon strips for the Charlie Brown comics and reflects the personality of its creator. Browse the historical exhibits at the Sonoma County Museum, which also has displays that children will be interested in. You have an awesome opportunity to learn all about Native American culture at the Jesse Peter Native American Museum, with the many artifacts detailing the beadwork, baskets and pottery, photographs and sculpture.
The Safari West Wildlife Preserve and Tent Camp is not like any zoo you've ever seen. There are more than 400 animals and birds from all over the world. Take a safari to see them in the wild. Another outdoor tour you can take is along the Sonoma County Farm Trails. Stop and pick wild berries and taste the fresh produce along the way.
With more than 16 wineries in this area, you can take a wine tasting tour. Depending on how much you taste, there is no guarantee that you will actually get to visit all of them in the same day.
Spend a day on the course at the three golf courses in the area or take a hike around Spring Lake. The Santa Rosa Mall features more than 100 specialty stores, but there are two other shopping areas in the city, as well as a host of smaller stores and boutiques.
