Originally the center of trade for the large farming community, Conway, Arkansas is the gateway to the Ozarks. Conway is a college town, with three major universities and more than 11,000 students which causes a rise in the regular population of about 50,000 residents during the school year.
Six beautiful parks lie within the boundaries of the city where you can have a picnic, sit and enjoy the view or stroll through the beautifully manicured lawns. Lake Conway is the fisherperson's dream as the largest fish and game commission in the country. There are also hoards of other opportunities for fishing and water sports at Beaverfork Lake, Cadron Settlement Park, Woody Hollow State Park and many others.
The Faulkner County Museum features exhibits that show the historical development of the town. There you will find a log house and get a glimpse into justice of the past at a jail house built in 1896. The Pickles Gap Village has an old time soda fountain, and a restaurant where you can enjoy hickory smoked barbecue food and homemade fudge. Here you will find a guitar shop, a card shop, antique and craft stores and well as amusement for children. Be sure to take in the Toad Suck Days if you are in Conway during the first weekend of May. This annual event features three days of non-stop fun with rides, entertainment, craft exhibits and of course, the infamous toad jumping contests.

Chinese, Italian, Mexican or traditional - these are the menu choices you have when you eat at one of the many restaurants in town. Enjoy a bean burrito at the Mean Bean Café and Restaurant or make your eyes water from the HOT sauce at Smitty's Bar and Grill. Conway is a town that you will hate to leave and will most likely plan to revisit.
