Originally settled by Native peoples, the first white men came to Lincoln, Alabama in search of gold. The town is only 40 miles from Birmingham and is easily accessed from I-20 and Highway 48. This is a small town with only 5000 residents, but it is the home of the factory that builds the Honda minivan. Stay at the Comfort Inn with its outdoor swimming pool or choose the Days Inn. With its almost 2500 acres, the Cheaha State Park is the place to go for your outdoor activities. This park has opportunities for hiking or strolling with the many nature trails it contains. There is also pedal boating, playgrounds, picnic areas, and places for fishing. Visit the Bryant Vineyard, located close to Lincoln and taste the fine wine produced in this part of the country. Within 20 miles, there are three museums for you to visit in nearby Calhoun.
Golfers planning a trip to Lincoln will be glad to know there is a golf course in the area. On the Lincoln Highway, you will find the Talladega Municipal Golf Course, where you can spend at day enjoying the view and the shots.
