Just the name of the town - Gulf Shores - inspires visions of a beautiful vacation place and this is what this city in Alabama offers you. A vacation by the coast - how much better could you have it? With a population of 5,044, this little city has a whole big package of fun and surprises for everyone. With temperatures that go from 90 degrees to 74 degrees F and easily accessed by highway 180 or Highway 59, it is the ideal spot for you.

Gulf Shores gives you a choice of where you want to stay by offering The Beach House, which features a sun porch that overlooks the sea, the Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast, which offers five beautiful decorated guest rooms or the Summerland Bed and Breakfast. If this is not what you had in mind, perhaps one of the hotels and motels that are available are more to your liking.

You can try Oleander Inn By the Sea, which has the beachfront at their doorstep, or the Comfort Inn. Depending on your pocket book, you can have the luxurious or the economical.  For dining, try Hazel's Nook for the best biscuits in the land or the Gull Island Grill for a delicious meal of seafood. Of course there are many more places to eat and no matter where you eat you will leave well satisfied. If you get a yearning for a cool one, then drop into The Undertow, or the Pink Pony Pub.

Gulf State Park offers a wonderful 6,150 acres complete with a two mile white sand beach, but this is not all. It also provides an array of recreational activities such as fishing from a 825 foot pier or from a 500 acre freshwater lake. You can hike along its natural trails and see nature up close or swim from the beautiful beaches. Take a trip over to Fort Morgan Marina or for a day of recreation go to Bodenhamer Recreation Center. Of course we can't leave golf out and for you avid golfers, you can choose from the many golf courses that this city holds, like the Cotton Creek and Cypress Bend Golf Course, where you can enjoy 36 holes of Arnold Palmer golf.

There are dozens of shops located here from department store shopping to specialty shops where you can find that unique gift you were looking for. From gift baskets to Gourmet foods they have it all.
