Ibiza Travel Tips from Ageed Siddiq and other guests
A few tips about the surrounding area, stuff to do and restaurants: The hotel is in Figueretas really, which is nice because it's between Ibiza town (20 mins walk) and Playa d'en Bossa (10 mins walk). To get to Figueretas beach (with some nice restaurants along the front overlooking the sea) come out of the hotel and turn right, and try to stick to a coastal walk. Try Restaurante La Cabana for gorgeous tapas and great portions/value. Plenty of veggie choice too. Ibiza town is about 20 mins on foot (turn right out of hotel), 7 Euros in a taxi or a bit less if you catch the No 14 bus and has plenty of places along the front or within D'Alt Vila (both a bit pricey) so try to visit the square which is nestled between D'Alt Vila and the harbour. For a cheap and tasty lunch, try Hostal Parque. For the most amazing meal ever if you fancy a real treat, try La Brasa. It's a absolutely stunning garden restaurant with food and drink to die for. It's one of the best meals I've ever had (and not just on holiday). We had Vegetable Paella (need to have a minimum of 2 people to order this) and Cava Sangria, which made a beautiful and fresh change. All the flavours were amazing and I can't sing the praises high enough. I think the bill was about 60 Euros, but we didn't need starters or desserts because the paella was so filling. Playa d'en Bossa (turn left out of hotel) has restaurants and bars, but caters for the more fast-food orientated customers. Most of it is actually shut off-season and we didn't feel it was worth a visit, but I can imagine if you go on-season it would be a real hive of activity. There are a couple of clubs there including Space and Bora Bora and a water park, but again, both close in Oct. The only club still open off-season is Pacha in Ibiza town, which is open Fri and Sat nights, and the occasional special occasion. Well worth a visit, and walkable from Ibiza town unless you're in killer shoes! Most people would rather get a taxi anyway I think! Beware, drinks are obviously expensive - 10 Euros for a spirit and mixer and slightly less for a bottle of lager. Other places to visit - The Hippy Market in Es Cana is worth a look. 20 Euros for ly stunning garden restaurant with food and drink to die for. You can get the boat from Figueretas. Also, go to San Antonio to see the best views of the famous Ibiza sunset, either from Cafe del Mar or from one of many benches near the cafe for a cheaper option. Catch the No 3 bus Ibiza town to San An - It's very cheap and pretty regular. One thing I will say is you get the occasional scorcher of a day, but mostly the weather in mild in October (but always shorts and T-shirt weather). It won't seem really hot and sunny if you're used to the Canary Islands, for example. Also, the island does pretty much seem to close down in large parts from Oct onwards so it's great if you fancy relaxing, but if you want to party then go June-Sept...
