Rome is the capital and largest city in Italy. It is a great city to visit anytime of the year, but it can get pretty hot in the Summer months. Rome has ancient ruins and monuments of the part, amazing museums, great food, and wonderful hotels. Some of the most famous sites to visit are the Colosseum, Vatican, Pantheon, Forum, Constantine’s Arch, the Spanish Step, and the Trevi Fountain.

According to legend if you throw one coin into Trevi Fountain you will return to Rome, if you throw two coins you will get married, and if you throw three coins you will get divorced. Each day approximately 3,000 euros are thrown into the fountain. The money is regularly collected by the government and used to feed families in need.

Vatican City is a sovereign nation located within the city of Rome. Walking into St.Peter's Basilica is a breathtaking experience, it's the largest Christian church in the world, holding over 60,000 people. The Vatican Museum’s collection has some of the greatest art and treasures of the world spanning several centuries. The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, painted by Michelangelo is worth the visit in itself. Take note: There is a dress code to enter the chapel and no shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless shirts are permitted.
