Nantes Travel Tips from John Cauley and other guests
We stayed in Nantes to visit friends. We had an excellent three course meal at the Piazza d'Italia at the Commerce junction in the centre of the city which was only 15 euros and the food was superb - well recommended. We visit le jardin des plants - the city's park which was very beautiful and free entry. The art galley - Musee des Beaux arts was also worth a visit. Les Animaux des machines on the Ile de Nantes which has a robotic elephant (!) was very impressive from what we saw, unfortunately we ran out of time to go inside but the elephant can be viewed for free from the outside. Public transport in the city is easy to use and the best way to get around with trams, buses, river buses and bikes. A very good weekend!..
