Very interesting city. Our hop on, hop off bus tour was not good. Bus kept breaking down, we were stuck on a bus on a tour that should have lasted an hour or so for almost 4 hours. We ended up getting off the bus and walking back. Wonderful mussels and oysters in the restaurants. ..
If you want a decent pint go near the docks where there are a few Irish pubs.
Watch out for the beggars , use the metro, it has two lines and is good and if you have time visit the old town on the tourist train
It is pretty hard to get decent food other than junk but there are a couple of decent grill restaurants by vieux port .
Not really a beach but Nice can be reached by 2 hours by train..
