Known as the "Diamond of the Bohai Gulf", the city of Tianjin is the closest seaport in China to Beijing. It consists of four main structures and while you cannot enter the buildings if you are not of the Moslem faith, you can walk around the courtyard. Visit the parks of the city, such as Haithe Park and Water Park or journey 100 km to visit the Mt. Panshan Scenic Area. Walk the streets of the antique market and marvel at the architecture of the buildings.
The food served here is quite different from than in other parts of the country. Delight in such meals as Tianjin braised creamed cabbage and ask the waiter to explain how it is cooked.
