If you like golden beaches, blue sky and tropical climates, then you will love visiting Haikou, China. This place is well known for its "end of the sky and rim of the sea" and is a famous scenic spot. This busy populated capital will leave you breathless with the wonderful sights that are offered to anyone that vacations here.

After you choose from one of Haikou's many hotels and restaurants, you can start exploring the wonderful treats of this great city. If you like beaches and water sports that beaches, you will find a little of that here, but you can also visit the Shishan Volcanic Craters. These volcanoes are dormant, but will give you the opportunity to see a volcano up close. The volcanoes are just outside of Haikou to the southwest and the cone shape of them can be seen from the city. You will also find a very interesting museum at the base of one of the volcanoes.

When you get to one of these volcanoes, you can not only walk around the edge of but you can descend down in the throat of one of them making this a very thrilling excursion. The volcano is covered in tropical vegetation and the view from the top of the volcano is uncomparable.

Five miles west of Haikou you will find the Hairui Tomb, which is located in Bin Ya Village and was built in 1589 and a well near the tomb is said to have been found by Hairui a person who was well known for his integrity. For over 400 years this well has never run dry.

You will also see Five Officials Memorial Temple, that are located on the edge of Haikou City. This is a complex of ancient buildings and is regarded as a cultural treasure to the people that live here.
