Sun Peaks is a skiing resort town located 50 km from Kamloops, British Columbia. The summit of the ski slope is called the Top of the World with an elevation of just over 2000 m. This area used to be known as Tod Mountain, but the name was changed in 1983. The first chair lift started operating here in 1961 and since then the area has drawn millions of skiers each year to test themselves on the challenging slopes.
The village of Sun Peaks consists of 7 hotels, which includes the only 4-diamond accommodation in the interior of the province. In addition to the three mountains, there are also back country trails for cross-country skiing and a myriad of other activities, such as dog sledding, snow shoeing, ice skating and snowmobiling.
