Edmonton is the capital city of Alberta, Canada. The Edmonton area is home to over one million residents, and is a major cultural, educational and government centre. Elk Island National Park is located an hour east of Edmonton.

There are many neighborhoods in Edmonton with a distinct feel. Old Strathcona is a trendy historical neighborhood, and there are the ethnic neighborhoods of Little India, Chinatown, and Little Italy. Whyte Avenue is an extremely popular nightlife and entertainment destination, with shopping, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The Downtown Arts District and area surrounding the University of Alberta contain museums, galleries, and theatres.
Edmonton is a major transportation gateway and can be reached by the Edmonton International Airport or the Edmonton City Centre Airport. The city is easy to navigate by its gridded street system, and the Edmonton Transit system offers light rail, trolleys, and buses. Edmonton has a wide range of hotels to choose from in its downtown, suburban, or riverfront areas.
